It might not be an everyday affair that you get to set aside a budget for doing up your nails at a salon. So when you do have an excuse like a party where you get to sneak in a treat for your nails, you have to make the impossible decision -What design should I get?! There are literally more than a million designs out there but only 10 nails to paint (another 10 if you decide on a pedi too). How do you choose?!?
Well I'm a big fan of going with the theme of the occasion and here are some events we'd love to nail.
School Events/ Graduation Day

Congratulations you made it! The graduation gown and mortar board is all anyone's going to be dressed in on this special day and with all the handshakes going around, your nails will probably be getting a lot of attention too. How about going with your school colours in various shapes and designs? It's simple and subtle yet allows for some 'school pride' to show. Not to mention, you'll get a good picture in with these nails holding up your new certificate.

First day of school is a pretty big deal too. Making new friends and catching up with old ones - preppy nails could be a great conversation-starter for sure, along with a good first impression. Why not use the colors and design of your school uniform or your favorite school club as an inspiration? They're so cute you might end up liking your uniform even more after these.
Weddings
You've already spent on the dress, decor, location and killer heels. You'll definitely want to give a finishing touch to those nails of yours too. Even if you weren't the bride in this case, prepping your nails for the event could be fun and an accessory itself as well!

Elegant and classy - something matchy with your statement piece perhaps? Take inspiration from your mother's jewellery or family heirloom. It's not only classic and timeless, it also allows you to have a piece of familiarity and your heritage as you walk down the aisle. It might not steal the show but it'll complement the other elements you have on you because you're the star of the day afterall.

You probably spent a great deal of time choosing that perfect dress. Why not use the motifs or lace details of your dress to dress up your nails too? This would save you the headache of choosing a totally new design for your nails and wondering if the end result would go well with your already perfect outfit. It would definitely match well and serve as an extra detail that gives your dress a pop!

What better way to incorporate flowers than on your nails? This design is perfect for your bridesmaids as well! Pick from the flowers you have decided on for your wedding and meld them into a design for your nails. You'll not just be holding your bouquet for 5 minutes down the aisle but for the rest of the evening and your honeymoon too!
Summer Party / Winter
This one's for the change in seasons because it's fun to change our nails according to our moods and outfits.

Summer's the time for all things crazy, loud and fun (think 'party') so why not choose a cartoon for your nails! Lucky for us, the trend of painting your nails in different designs seem to be staying for now so go ahead and stretch your imagination for each nail! Fruits like watermelon and pineapples are a refreshing design too and you could take inspiration from all that crazy yatch/beach parties you'll be having.

These 3D knitted nails are super cute especially when matched with your spring/winter outfit! Draw some ideas from your new coat or knitted wear and match them with your nails! They're subtle yet sweet and the 3D art adds the extra pop your nails need to make them look just like your latest jacket design.
There are just so many ideas for every special occasion that you just have to look around you to be inspired! There are simply too many designs to do for 10 fingers and if I had my way, I'd change mine every week. Where do you draw your nailspiration from? Let us know!
