INNI Nails solving gel polish problems

INNI Nails was created for women who love to beautify their nails, but dread the hassles involved. It was born out of my personal learning journey with nail art.

As a newly initiated, I started painting my nails with conventional nail polishes. Before long, I was frustrated. Not only were my endeavours tedious and time-consuming, the end results were also short-lived. The designs that I had so painstakingly applied on my nails would show cracks within a mere 3 days. That was way too much pain for too little gain, I often lamented. However, as I was unaware of other alternatives, I trudged on with nail polishes.

I then chanced upon gel nail polishes during a promotional manicure session at a department store. The promoter shared that a gel manicure would last for 2 weeks. At that instant, my eyes lit up and I queued for my turn. True to her word, my nails were beautiful and untarnished for the next 14 days. I was so satisfied that I purchased my own set of gel polishes and a UV lamp. Though they were much more expensive than the usual nail polishes, it was a price I gladly paid to rid myself of frustration.

Oh, how naive I was! A couple of weeks in and I noticed my first problem.  Compared to nail polishes, the gels were impossibly difficult to remove.  I had to soak my fingers in a nail polish remover for 15 minutes to dissolve the gels before it came off in bits and pieces – along with the skin on my fingers, mind you. I then chipped off the remaining gels before my nails were clean once more.

Still, I chose skin and nail damage over the impermanence of nail polishes, and continued to use gels. A few months in and the condition of my nails began to worry me. They had become thin, easily breakable and bendable, and were in an unhealthy tinge of yellow. I quickly did a brief search on the Internet, and was alerted to even more upsetting news. Apparently constant exposure to the UV lamp could cause rapid ageing of the users’ hands, and put them at a higher risk of skin cancer. That was way, way too much pain for a little bit of gain, I thought anxiously. Gel nail polish was not the solution to my problem after all.

I had abandoned all hope when my friend’s nail wraps caught my attention. Needless to say, I hopped on the bandwagon immediately and bought a few for myself. It was wonderful. The nail wraps were easy to apply, and had intricate designs that would have been extremely difficult to pull off with nail polishes. Better still, they could last up to weeks. At last, there was some gain with no pain!

Unfortunately, my gain was not perfect. The use of nail wraps had eased my frustration, but I was constrained by the designs available on the market. Unlike in my earlier days of nail polishes and gels, I could no longer create my own designs. I longed for the freedom of self-expression I had once enjoyed, yet refused to give up the ease and convenience I was enjoying.

Then it hit me – I could create a new brand of nail wraps that allows women to customize their own designs! Lauri and Candice excitedly affirmed its viability. Months of hard work later, along with a successful Kickstarter campaign, we launched INNI Nails into the market.

INNI Nails is the fruit of my learning journey. It is the perfect solution to my dissatisfaction with nail polishes, gel polishes, and the mass-produced nail wraps.

And it will be yours too.

Love,
Katja
